As the Street Outlaws television series has expanded its reach worldwide, it's now time for their racing events to follow suit. These competitors are now going head-to-head with the top talents that Australia has to offer, racing on their home turf. Street Outlaws fans are eagerly anticipating the commencement of the Australia No Prep Kings event, where the spotlight will be on the highly-anticipated rematch between Jeff Lutz and John Zappia. Throughout his career, Zappia has consistently delivered exceptional racing performances, boasting an impressive track record and numerous achievements in the realm of Top Doorslammer. In an unexpected turn of events, Jeff Lutz emerged victorious in their encounter. On the following day, John Zappia also went head-to-head with Murder Nova, providing an exciting race for fans to witness. The significant event of the day revolved around Robin Roberts, who unfortunately encountered an obstacle that might prevent him from participating in the remainder of the Australian tour. Early on Sunday morning, at approximately 6 AM, a truck transporting his prized 1968 Firebird, known as "High Voltage" and valued at $500,000, overturned on Great Eastern Highway, close to Warralakin Road in Walgoolan. Fortunately, both Robin Roberts and a passenger escaped the incident with only minor injuries. An ambulance transported him to Merredin Hospital. He mentioned, "It was inside the very container it was originally shipped in across the ocean. It commenced its journey from the Perth drag strip at midnight with two drivers en route to Brisbane." Photo by Robin Roberts Racing “Here is where we are: Truck drivers are okay. That’s number 1! Cars get fixed or replaced, people can’t.” Robin Roberts Racing said in a Facebook post. “Car was ripped out of its mounts so hard it slammed and dented the roof of the container, came down and stuck propped up on its side with one of our spare parts boxes stuck between it and the wall. Our toolbox and other items are done for! Chassis seems okay, we will know in the morning when we take it out of the container and get it out of the predicament it is wedged into. That will be a chore! Scott Taylor with his towing expertise will help get it out the best way possible. Boosted, Lutz and many of the team will chip in. Stay tuned. More tomorrow! Keep the Faith!!” Photos by Robin Roberts Racing Roberts was expected to compete in three more stops in the Land Down Under. This past weekend, Roberts competed in the first stop at Perth Motorplex in Perth, Australia. Robin Roberts said after inspecting the car which was taken to Perth on Sunday night, repairs could be done. “So far it looks repairable if we put a new body on it,” he said. Recently he just updated that he will come up with the game plan for this weekend. Now check out below footage of day 2 highlights with Murder Nova, Jeff Lutz and Justin Swanstrom. • Update on Ryan Martin’s Phoenix Camaro Testing Incident

The situation facing "Street Outlaws" star Ryan Martin is the last thing you'd want to experience while racing halfway across the globe in an area abundant in skilled fabricators but lacking easy access to physical car components – damaging a racecar. Three-time champion of Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings, Ryan "Fireball" Martin, recently experienced a testing incident with his 1969 Camaro at Perth Motorplex in Kwinana Beach, Australia. This mishap occurred as he was preparing for an upcoming event, set to be featured on Discovery Channel. Fortunately, reports from Australia confirm that Ryan is unharmed, though the same cannot be said for his supercharged Camaro. Ryan had sent his small-tire Camaro to Australia following its television debut on the spinoff series, Street Outlaws: Mega Cash Days. This Camaro boasts a rich history in outlaw racing even before the NPK champion acquired it. It is equipped with a Pro Line Racing hemi engine and relies on a ProCharger F3-136 supercharger for added power. This combination is a familiar one for his team, as they have achieved success dominating No Prep Kings and reigning supreme on the streets with a similar setup in his 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1 and the original "Fireball" fifth-generation Camaro, which has served him faithfully over the years. Ryan Martin's original "Fireball" Camaro that he's driven to championships and numerous street race victories. As mentioned in the video commentary, tire smoke was observed at the top end of the track, and there is speculation that the rear tires may have seized, causing the car to skid into the wall. However, no additional information or specific details have been disclosed at this time. Video by StreetOutlaws_NpkSpoilers Photo by Fireball Camaro According to the team's announcement, a strategy has been devised, and the car is en route to Sydney for necessary repairs. Ryan Martin acknowledged that the primary hurdle they face lies in sourcing a suitable replacement for the unique carbon-fiber front end. This particular component would pose a significant challenge to replace promptly, even in the United States, let alone in Australia. Nevertheless, Martin expressed strong assurance that he will be back and ready to participate in the second scheduled event at Willowbank Raceway, scheduled for March 3-4. Ryan talks about yesterdays mishap Perth Motorplex. We will still be here all weekend. Hope to see all our Amazing Aussie Fans

  • Big Chief and Jackie's First Experience with 28-Inch Tires on the Street!

Big Chief and Jackie, known for their high-powered street racing exploits, recently faced a unique challenge. With a major race just around the corner, they had to make an unexpected switch to 28-inch tires for their race car, a change that required adjustments to various aspects of the vehicle. In this article, we'll dive into their exciting journey as they adapt to the new tire size, make critical changes, and aim to find the right setup before the big race. Big Chief and Jackie's first experience with 28-inch tires on the street! Photo by Big Chief 405 The story begins with an unexpected turn of events. Just days before the upcoming race, which was restricted to cars equipped with 28-inch tires, Big Chief and Jackie received a last-minute call from 6sixty Street. This call set their wheels in motion as they needed to prepare their race car to compete on the smaller tires. Their car had been racing on 29-inch tires, and the quick change was not as straightforward as it might seem. The switch to 28-inch tires wasn't a simple swap-and-go operation. Big Chief and Jackie had to make a series of adjustments to their car to ensure it could handle the new tire size. Some of the key modifications included changing the gear ratio, the tire type, ride height, and converting their car for the use of nitrous oxide. These changes presented a daunting challenge, but the seasoned racers were up to the task. Photo by Big Chief 405 With the adjustments complete, it was time to put the car to the test. Over the course of two nights, Big Chief and Jackie embarked on a series of shakedown runs to evaluate the car's performance on the new 28-inch tires. They closely monitored various aspects of the car's behavior, including RPM, drive shaft movement, and G-forces experienced during the runs. During the tests, they encountered some challenges that needed addressing. One of the most notable issues was wheel speed and an undesirable oscillation as the car moved off the rubber of the racing surface. The data from their tests indicated an imbalance, especially during gear changes and acceleration, which needed resolution before the upcoming race. Photo by Big Chief 405 To address these issues, Big Chief and Jackie devised a plan. They aimed to optimize the car's suspension and weight distribution to achieve better traction and balance. Specifically, they sought to improve the car's ability to stay on the track and prevent the wheel spin they had observed. Their goal was to maintain the car's front-end height and allow the rear to regain its ride height, ensuring a smoother and more controlled run. The process involved fine-tuning the car's suspension and making adjustments to the front spread. This included lowering the top of the front four-link bar to give the car more leverage and help it regain height when needed. Additionally, the rear of the car underwent modifications to improve the bottom bar angle, further enhancing traction and control. In the final stages of preparation, Big Chief and Jackie made additional changes to maximize their car's performance on 28-inch tires. They filled new nitrous oxide bottles, changed the oil, and considered adding some extra weight to the rear of the car. This was done to maintain balance and prevent the car from separating due to added bar angle and suspension changes, which could result in a loss of traction and power. After several rounds of testing and reconfiguration, the car showed significant improvement and promising results during its runs. Big Chief and Jackie demonstrated their adaptability and problem-solving skills, getting the car ready for the big race despite the tight timeline and the complex nature of the changes required. Photo by Big Chief 405 As the race day approaches, Big Chief and Jackie remain confident in their ability to take on the competition and give it their all. This journey exemplifies the determination and resilience that street racers bring to their craft, consistently pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of underground racing. In this high-stakes world, where every last detail matters, Big Chief and Jackie's pursuit of excellence highlights their commitment to their craft and their desire to be competitive at the highest level. Now, with their car optimized for 28-inch tires and a freshly honed setup, they are ready to face the challenges of the big race head-on. Video by Midwest Street Cars

  • Twin Turbo Rule Adjustment in Street Outlaws: An Insight into the Game Changer!

In the world of street racing, the dynamics are constantly evolving, and one of the most popular shows, Street Outlaws, recently witnessed a significant rule adjustment that has sparked discussions and speculations among enthusiasts. The alteration in question pertains to the twin turbo category, which has been struggling for consistency and success in the current season of No Prep Kings. Before delving into the details of this rule change, it's important to note that twin turbo cars have faced formidable challenges this season. Notably, there hasn't been a single turbo car that clinched victory in any of the races, except for Jeff Lutz, who competes with a big block Chevy engine. Lutz's success is primarily attributed to the weight advantage of his car compared to others, yet even he faced his fair share of difficulties. This raises the question: Why have twin turbo cars, known for their speed and power, failed to dominate this season? Jeff Lutz's GTO with Big Block Chevy engine. Photo by Lutz Race Cars As we assess the present point standings, it becomes clear that twin turbo cars are encountering a challenging season. Jeff Lutz currently occupies the 16th spot, while Dominator or Chris Rankin may find themselves positioned somewhere in the vicinity of 30th and 36th place. It's undeniable that twin turbo vehicles aren't making the same impact as they once did in previous seasons, prompting us to ponder: what has shifted in their performance? Why have twin turbo cars failed to dominate this season? Photo by Street Outlaws Stat Guy It appears that the competition in No Prep Kings has intensified due to innovations in supercharger technology, particularly from ProCharger. These advancements have allowed other types of engines, such as nitrous and screw blower setups, to become more competitive. Consequently, while the rest of the field got faster, the twin turbo setups remained relatively stagnant in terms of performance. Chris Rankin at Street Outlaws No Prep Kings. Photo by Chris Rankin Racing The turning point came a few races ago when a weight adjustment was introduced for twin turbo combinations. Previously, the T88 mm turbo combo had a base weight of 2825 lbs, with deductions applied for specific factors like car year, engine combo, and more. On the other hand, the twin 98 mm combination had a base weight of 2875 lbs. The recent rule change reduced the base weight for the twin 98 mm combo to 2800 lbs, making them considerably lighter than their screw blown and ProCharger counterparts. While this weight reduction is expected to help the twin turbo cars in terms of speed, it may not completely address the issue of consistency. The nature of twin turbo systems, with their exhaust and header setups, doesn't generate as much downforce as screw blown Hemis or ProCharged Hemis. This lack of downforce can be a hindrance, especially on No Prep Kings tracks where the surface is not ideal throughout the entire race. Typically, the first 330 feet of the No Prep Kings track provides a better surface for racing, favoring screw blown and ProCharged cars. On the other hand, twin turbo cars tend to shine towards the end of the race, with their impressive power output at the rear wheels. However, the inconsistency in track conditions can pose a challenge for these turbocharged machines. With the recent rule adjustment in their favor, it remains to be seen whether twin turbo cars can overcome these hurdles and make a significant impact on No Prep Kings. Notably, Mike Murillo, a seasoned racer with a competitive twin turbo car, has showcased remarkable speed but is yet to establish consistent dominance. Chris Rankin and Jeff Lutz's turbocharger by Comp Turbo Technology. Photo by Chris Rankin Racing In conclusion, the twin turbo rule adjustment in Street Outlaws has the potential to level the playing field for these high-powered machines. However, the challenges associated with track conditions and consistency persist. Enthusiasts eagerly await the outcome, hoping to witness some thrilling races and perhaps the resurgence of twin turbo cars in the world of street racing. Stay tuned for the latest updates and developments in the exciting world of Street Outlaws and No Prep Kings. Video by Lutz Race Cars
