  • Street Outlaws Is Getting Sued by Ryan Fellows Family for His Fatal Crash

Street racing is still one of the most dangerous forms of racing and unfortunately, the most popular street racing show, Street Outlaws, has seen a life perish during filming. While this happened a while ago, it seems that the family of the victim are pointing the finger at the production of the show, and they have filed a lawsuit, to try and get their case heard. Recently, the family of the late "Street Outlaws: Fastest in America" star Ryan Fellows claims both TV networks and studios put his life at risk for financial gain by having him race on an unsafe stretch of road ... and now they're suing over his fatal crash. Ryan died back in August in a fiery crash during filming for his popular Discovery show. We were told Ryan was racing another driver when he lost control of his car near the finish line, with the vehicle rolling before catching fire. According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the Fellows family is going after Warner Bros. Discovery and Lions Gate Entertainment ... accusing the media corporations of negligence they insist led to Ryan's death. In the docs, the family says the area where 'Street Outlaws' filmed drag racing scenes was a dusty, weather-beaten, rough asphalt 55-mile per hour roadway in the Las Vegas desert, which didn't meet any of the industry safety standards for drag racing. Ryan's family claims there were numerous crashes during filming, including cars flipping, rolling and catching fire ... and they rip the media giants for filming life-threatening collisions and airing them on TV for profit. They also claims the rough asphalt caused racecars to lose traction, the narrow lanes left drivers no room for corrections and the gravel shoulders and drop-offs sent racecars into out-of-control slides that only ended when the vehicles dug into the sand, flipped and rolled. The Fellows say Warner Bros. Discovery knew it was extremely dangerous to hold races on the roadway ... and they claim it was an “extreme departure from what a reasonable careful person would do in the same situation to prevent harm to others.” “It gets worse” ... Ryan's family says Warner Bros. “Discovery had multiple opportunities to move filming to a safer location after "numerous horrific crashes," but they say the network instead "sat back, flipped on the lights and cameras, and waited for the next inevitable crash.” That crash happened August 7, when Ryan's family claims his racecar lost traction on the roadway, slid off the road and flipped into a roll. The Fellows say Ryan's car rolled multiple times before coming to a rest upside down and catching fire, and they claim he hung upside down in the driver's seat on fire for more than 30 minutes before fire crews removed him from the car. By that time, the family says Ryan was horribly burned and dead. The Fellows say after Ryan's death Warner Bros. Discovery moved the show to a dedicated 75-foot-wide drag strip at a professional California raceway ... and the family says the change “proves the availability and feasibility of a safer alternative to the unsafe desert roadway.” Ryan's family is now suing the media companies and they want punitive and compensatory damages because they say his death is causing suffering and loss of love and companionship. While we are very sorry for their loss, and we cannot comprehend the huge tragedy that they have been thru, the first thing that comes to mind is the fact that this is street racing, and we don’t think there are certain rules regarding the size of the lanes, or the road itself. On the other hand, in the few amateur races that I have entered, there has always been some sort of a waiver relieving the organizer from any type of responsibility in case of an accident, so I would not expect the Street Outlaws production not to do the same, this is regular practice around the world of racing.

  • Team NOLA's Todd Spiers New Mustang Horrible Incident

Street Outlaws is a reality television show that follows the lives of street racers across the United States. One of the teams featured on the show is Team NOLA, in which team member is Todd Spiers. He was seen joining Fastest in America season one, two and three on behalf of New Orleans team against another teams and he went right down extremely fast with his old Fox Body Mustang. In recent news, Todd Spiers has been making headlines for his new Mustang and an incident that occurred during a testing. Brand new Todd Spiers Fox Body Mustang by Bad Habitz Fabrication Photo and video by Catie Spiers Todd Spiers is known for his impressive driving skills and his passion for racing. He recently acquired a new Mustang that he was eager to test out on the track. Bad Habitz Fabrication finished this beautiful S550 Fox Body Mustang for Todd and prepared to test it for the first time. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. In the second pass, the car took flight through the air and crashed. This is a horrible scenario and extremely bad for Todd since this is his brand new car, brand new built and very expensive one. Fortunately, Todd Spiers was out safely from the incident with only minor injuries. His wife and daughter later took to social media to address the incident and reassure his fans that he was okay. She wrote on Todd Spier Facebook page: “Todd is fine. Banged up a little bit. Taking him to get checked out now. We will keep everyone on posted. Thanks everyone for the prayers! Means more than y’all know.” Photo by Todd Spiers Facebook Page Overall, while the incident was undoubtedly a scary moment for Todd Spiers and his fans, it serves as a testament to his dedication and determination. Todd Spiers is a skilled driver who is willing to push the limits to improve his performance on the track. As he continues to race and compete, his fans will undoubtedly be cheering him on every step of the way. Hopefully he can get his Mustang repaired and will be back on the track, ready to take on his competitors.

  • Richard Rawlings Reveals The Real Reason Why Fast N' Loud Got Canceled

The media industry’s rapid evolution is partly to blame for the popular car show with Gas Monkey Garage coming to an end. We all know and love Richard Rawlings. Rawlings is the famous host of the Fast N’ Loud TV series and is one of the most charismatic automotive personalities out there. While he is perhaps most famous for the show, he is also the founder of the Gas Monkey Garage featured in it. He's also been in various television commercials for the Dodge motor company, promoting their vehicles. Even if you think he is brash and loud, the job he and his team do on classic and muscle car restorations is second to none. Of course, all good things must come to an end. Back in 2020, Rawlings announced that the famous Fast N’ Loud show was ending, which naturally came as a bit of a shock to many of his fans and fans of the show. The Discovery Channel TV show had run for nearly a decade, starting on June 6th 2012 and the final episode had in fact aired on June 8th 2020. Almost eight years to the day that the first episode aired, and having produced some amazing builds over the years. Finally, Rawlings appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast and spilled the beans on why was Fast N'Loud canceled, and it's not what you think. Did Fast N’ Loud Get Canceled? Rawlings was a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience in December 2020, on episode 1578 to be precise. Rogan asked Rawlings straight up why has Fast N'Loud stopped. As Rawlings himself said, he went right for the big question. Rawlings then came straight out and said that the show was no more. Rawlings had exited the Discovery Channel and that was that. He was a free agent but at the time he had plenty of cool things lined up for the future. And we saw that too with some great stuff out there from Gas Monkey Garage and Richard Rawlings, all documented on his new YouTube channel that has over a million subscribers. But Rawlings went on to say it was a bit of a perfect storm, so to speak. Rawlings himself wanted to expand and grow a bit, and he had got to the top of that mountain at Discovery and used the tricky year we all had in 2020 to rethink the future and work out what he wanted to do. And with 300-ish episodes, we can’t argue that Fast N’ Loud hadn’t had a good run. It had done very well and made Rawlings a household name in the United States, and around the world. The Future For Gas Monkey Garage Back then, Rawlings spoke about what the future might hold for him. One area he wanted to work on was an automotive podcast for himself, as no one in his world was really doing one at the time. He has of course appeared on quite a few podcasts since then. Social media didn’t really fall into that, as it wasn’t as big of a thing in 2012 as it is now. Rogan spoke of a time a potential employer wanted to control his social media, which was a "hard no". Basically, Rawlings would not have the chance to post his own things a lot of the time. He was exclusively signed up to Discovery. Amazingly, Rawlings revealed that as part of his contract, there is a clause that essentially says that he can’t talk bad things about Discovery during his contract. That would in fact see him incur up to a $25,000 fine per occurrence, had he done so. And naturally, no one is going to want to pay that much if things are not good between yourself and your employing studio. As things turned out, Gas Monkey Garage lives on, and how. The YouTube channel is doing great, and Rawlings is even hiring new people to come work for him. Richard Rawlings: Getting Stuck In A Rut Rawlings did indeed feel he was stuck in a rut at the channel. And in fact, this $25,000 fine could still be fully applied upon him leaving the channel. So he can’t go and trash talk the show. For the most part, he does like the Discovery Channel, and he and his team did want to make some changes to boost the automotive programming. But that wasn’t easy to do, hence him feeling like he was stuck in a rut while he was at the company. But still, he was able to make a very successful show for Discovery. A Big Change For Richard Rawlings The move from Discovery to more focus on YouTube and various automotive ventures was a big switch for Rawlings. And something he seems to be relishing with the extra freedom. It did sound like it was frustrating with Discovery at times, as it took him five years for example to do a crossover with the legendary Chip Foose. Photo by Forbes Nowadays, Rawlings is still as busy as ever, with one of the most recent surprises being the fact that he began to sell off his Gas Monkey classic car collection. This was in order to collect "...better cars, different cars, things I’ve always wanted to have" which sure seems like a good reason. Rawlings sold 28 vehicles from his collection, making a grand total of over $1,000,000. All of which means that Gas Monkey Garage and Richard Rawlings have a lot of bank to go looking for new cars to resurrect and build and document. The spirit of Fast N'Loud seems to be very much alive even though the show is over. For fans, we think that's all that matters.

  • Street Outlaws OKC Small Tire - Ryan Martin vs AZN

On any given race that involves the Street Outlaws, you can bet that you’re watching some of the fastest competitors in America. However, even for the strongest groups of racers, there are still some who always manage to do it just a little bit better than their peers, hanging towards the top of the pack, even when the competition is as strong as it gets. Photo by Street Outlaws This time, we check in with a little bit of a throwback to take us back to season two of Street Outlaws OKC Small Tire. The small-tire shoutout is in full force and we are happy to see most of the 405 guys make it to the second and even the third round of the competition. While none of us are shocked to see Ryan Martin in the quarter-finals, since he is the No Prep Kings champion and the all-around fastest guy in the Street Outlaws show, AZN is none of those things. Photo by Street Outlaws While many might confuse their actions with a big body of water and a fishing rod, these guys have been doing a different kind of fishing. Their newly built machines have been used to lure unsuspecting drivers of all sorts into a race and beat them and take their money, so that is the kind of fishing that these two have been doing. Photo by Farmtruck and AZN Seeing AZN behind the wheel of his famous Jeepers Creepers Jeep go into the quarter-final race is something that we were not expecting to be exact, and let us remember that even though his Jeep does not have the crazy amount of horsepower that Ryan Martin’s car has, this is still street racing and everything can happen. Photo by Farmtruck and AZN On the other hand, Ryan’s car has just been fixed from a problem and he is going into the race with as much as 200 horsepower more than what he had in the previous race that he apparently won to get to the quarter-finals, so this promises to be an interesting match up. By following along with the video below, we get a little bit of a flashback to a simpler time on Street Outlaws that had some of the fastest competitors going head to head with one another. At the end of the day, this is why we watch racing, to see the baddest drivers and cars taking on one another to see who can reign supreme. Who will advance to the semi-finals? • ‘Street Outlaws’ Team Mourns Loss of The Show's Producer

If you heard what happened to Mike Helmann from Street Outlaws, you know that the cast and crew of the Discovery series lost a colleague who was “loved and cherished by so many”. Michael David Helman, who is a Street Outlaw’s producer sadly passed away in 2022. Michael, AKA Mike, Helmann was a television show producer who was taking part in the creation of the hit show Street Outlaws. He worked as a field producer and also a producer for Street Outlaws in 2019. Although the news of Michael Helmann passing away has been expressed in a Facebook post yet the reason for his passing away is not mentioned. As a result, Michael Helmann’s cause of death is ambiguous. Even though, some people are claiming that Michael died in an accident that has not been found out by his family so far. A Facebook post that the Mike Murillo Racing team shared on Aug. 14, 2022 - a post presumably written by Murillo himself - gave fans of the Discovery show a somber update. “So, as most of you know by now, we lost someone very special to us this past weekend suddenly, right before the show,” the post reads. “Michael was found unresponsive in his hotel room on Thursday night. Any more details at this point are pure speculation.” The post went on: “Michael David Helmann was special. Not only was Michael special to us, but he was loved and cherished by so many racers in the Street Outlaws organization. Michael was our producer. Michael was that producer that we knew actually cared about us and treated us like family. Michael would just send random texts from time to time to say, ‘Can’t wait to see y’all,’ or videos at an attempt at getting the song ‘Watermelon Sugar’ stuck in my head (again) for the weekend.” Photo by Mike Murillo The post added, “Michael, you made the world a better place during the short time you were in it. We will never forget you or the love you showed everyone. Here is a very good example of how much fun he was.” Nearly two months later, the Mike Murillo Racing Facebook page shared a photo of a program from a memorial service for Helmann. An obituary on the website for Serenity Funeral and Crematory in Tulsa, Okla., notes that Helmann was 40 years old when he died. Photo by Mike Murillo Mike Helmann’s Go Fund Me After Mike’s death, a GoFundMe user named Dana Walker set up a fundraiser to support his family, which has so far raised more than $52,000 from more than 240 donors. (IMDb shows that one Dana Walker was also on the staff of Gym Rescue and Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back). Dana wrote: “As many of you have now heard, our best friend, brother, son, uncle, colleague, legend, and producer extraordinaire Mike Helmann has tragically left us - surprisingly and far, far too soon.” “The impact Michael made on everyone far and wide who had the pleasure of meeting him, and those of us who were fortunate enough to call him a friend, is greater than can be put into words,” Dana added. “So many people have offered condolences and support during this time of immeasurable loss, so this page has been created to help offer his family additional and necessary financial support for the proper arrangements required in order to honor his life and the legacy left in his wake.” Over $52,000 was raised via the Go Fund Me. The contributions were to go to his family. Fans sent their condolences and prayers to Mike’s family on social media after learning of his death.

  • Daddy Dave Got Penalized Over Small Technicality or The Race Went Against Him?!

If we’re talking about drag racing, things can find a way to become a little bit tense sometimes (and by sometimes, we mean a lot of the time). This is especially true when there’s money or reputation on the line as a couple of drivers line up to have at it. If we really wanted to multiply this tense situation, we would take things to the street where competition can get a little bit heavier than if it were on a track. It just seems to be the nature of the beast when it comes to street racing that every driver is trying to gain an advantage on the next which can lead to arguments flaring up. This time, we check in with a little bit of a throwback clip that seems to have stemmed from some sort of debate. With the previous information, though, it can be tough to discriminate between what’s a simple understanding and what is an example of a racer trying to gain an edge in competition. Photo by Discovery Australia In this particular situation, we check in with a set of circumstances that had Daddy Dave incredibly unhappy when he raced a small tire Ford Mustang from Chicago. In fact, in his eyes, the race was handed over due to a small technicality. Photo by Discovery Australia As Dave was believed to have a faster car, the Mustang he was racing would be given a couple of car lengths of a head start. The Mustang would also be able to leave first which is a common practice for slower cars in street racing as well, so long as the driver can negotiate this stipulation. When the two lined up to go out it, Dave would end up bagging the victory easily, or so he thought. However, when Dave ended up back in the pits, the race master said that Dave had jumped before his competitor, therefore not playing by the rules. This is where things get sketchy. Photo by Discovery Australia When a driver is in Dave’s position is giving another car a head start, typically, they will watch the rear tire of the other car to see when exactly when the car starts going. Things get confusing here as the Mustang continues to move after it’s already locked in. However, depending on where you race, some will consider a car rocking back-and-forth or bumping to be a part of staging. Other times, though, such movement would be seen as a jump. Below, we check in with the debate over what exactly constitutes leaving the line and what is just included in staging. At the end of the day, Dave didn’t seem to argue too much about it but instead left matters to the race master. Video by Discovery Australia

  • Ryan Martin Takes On Lizzy Musi In The Qualifying Final of Street Outlaws No Prep Kings

As one of the more popular racers on Street Outlaws, fans just can’t seem to get enough of Three Peat Champion Ryan Martin. With the infamous Fireball Camaro, Ryan has certainly made a dent in the racing scene as he’s attacked streets everywhere. This time, though, it’s something a little bit different that has the Fireball in motion. In fact, it looks like this time, he’s under the lights instead of under the radar in the streets. This form of racing certainly throws a twist in things as compared to the street scene. In turn, Lizzy Musi is also a bonafide badass behind the wheel. When her name is in the mix, there’s a good chance that it’s going to be somewhere near the top. Both drivers have cemented themselves of cornerstones of the drag racing community. Photo by Discovery Australia Both of the Camaros looked absolutely menacing as they pulled up to the line. Both Lizzy and Martin were ready to give this race all that they had in order to go home with victory and we have to tell you that it was an incredibly amazing one. There were several heavy hitters who had to love the opportunity to line up next to Ryan in this format. On second thought, maybe they loathed it. After all, it’s not like the Fireball is exactly an easy win. Photo by Discovery Australia One thing that we know, for sure, is that Lizzy certainly isn’t going to take it easy on him! By following along with the Discovery Australia footage below, we get the opportunity to catch up with some of the No Prep Kings Action. Both of these drivers don’t play games when it comes to racing. When we see them on the billing next to one another, we know it’s going to be a real slobber knocker! This race is certainly all that and a bag of chips. Video by Discovery Australia

  • Street Outlaws: 10 Hidden Secrets Fans Might Not Know

Street racing has been a popular subculture for decades, and Discovery Channel's Street Outlaws has been a popular show that explores the world of illegal street racing. The show has a massive following and has been on the air for over a decade, but there are still some dark and hidden secrets that fans might not know about. Here are ten such secrets. 1. Some of the races are staged While the show claims to be about illegal street racing, some fans and insiders have claimed that some of the races are staged. Allegedly, some of the participants are paid to throw races or intentionally lose, while others are paid to win. The showrunners have denied these claims. 2. Not all of the cars are street-legal Despite the show's name, not all of the cars featured on Street Outlaws are actually street-legal. Some of them are highly modified and can only be driven on a track or private property. Others are completely illegal and cannot be driven anywhere. 3. Some of the racers have criminal records Many of the racers on Street Outlaws have criminal records, including charges for drug possession, DUI, and even manslaughter. While the show doesn't glorify criminal behavior, it does feature people who have made questionable choices in the past. 4. Some of the races are dangerous Illegal street racing is inherently dangerous, but some of the races on Street Outlaws are even more so. Some of the cars can reach speeds of over 200 miles per hour, and accidents can and do happen. In fact, one racer was killed during filming in 2016. 5. The show has faced legal troubles In 2018, the Oklahoma Corporation Commission filed a lawsuit against the production company behind Street Outlaws, alleging that they were illegally selling and distributing racing fuel. The case was settled out of court, but it's just one example of the legal troubles the show has faced. 6. The cars are expensive Building and maintaining a street racing car is not cheap, and some of the cars featured on Street Outlaws are incredibly expensive. Some of them can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to build and maintain. 7. The racers don't always get along While the racers on Street Outlaws are all part of the same subculture, they don't always get along. In fact, there have been several instances of fights and arguments between racers both on and off camera. 8. The show has been accused of promoting illegal behavior Some critics have accused Street Outlaws of promoting illegal street racing and encouraging dangerous behavior. The show's producers have denied these claims and have stated that they don't condone illegal activity. 9. • Update on Proud Mother and Avid Racer of Street Outlaws - Who Is She?

The hit Discovery racing show Street Outlaws Memphis has been a fan favorite ever since it first aired in 2013, and over the years the program has seen countless race car tinkerers and drivers join its ranks. As of late, one of the women who has taken center stage on the program has been Chelsea Day, an avid racer and proud mother whose prowess on the asphalt is enviable and whose love for her family knows no bounds. With that being said, who exactly is Chelsea, and what has she shared with fans about her life both on and off the racetrack? Here's a breakdown of the known details surrounding the Street Outlaws Memphis star. Who is Chelsea Day? Photo by Chelsea.Memphis During the course of the fifth season of Street Outlaws Memphis, and thanks in part to her husband's alleged back injury, Chelsea Day has become a much more present face on the program and opened up a lot more to fans who are curious about who exactly she is. Born on Jan. 12, 1994, Chelsea is 27 years old and the proud mother of two children, Kamden, 6, and Novaleigh, 4. Photo by Chelsea.Memphis Chelsea married fellow street racer Joshua "Doughboy" Day on Sep. 20, 2015, and it's clear that the duo has quite a strong bond as Joshua even has Chelsea's name tattooed on him. Aside from their two young children, Chelsea and Joshua are also the parents of a dog named Bane, who joined the family back in 2017. Photo by Chelsea.Memphis As she has described on Street Outlaws Memphis, racing runs in the Day family, and she took to the sport from a young age. Nicknamed "Chelarilla," Chelsea's affinity for racing began before she even took the wheel of her own car. Indeed, she used to help her older sister and fellow famed racer, Precious Cooper, prepare for races. It's unclear when exactly Chelsea began racing on her own, but photos of her at street races on Instagram date back to 2013. Photo by Chelsea.Memphis As the years went on and she spent more time surrounded by racers, Chelsea cultivated her own skills as a driver and now pilots a turquoise muscle car named TomKat, which has led her to many victories. It seems like she has also may have recently purchased another race car, a white 1973 Camaro, per another social media post. Chelsea, alongside Precious, Joshua, JJ Da Boss, and Mallory Gulley, make up Team MSO. Their racing squad is one of the most respected groups to emerge from the Memphis area, and JJ's skills in cultivating and empowering women to race have proven fruitful for their entire team, as fans of Street Outlaws Memphis know. • Dominator Has All The Luck in The World After Insane Crash at Armageddon 5 No Prep

When racers put their cars on the track during a racing event, they’re at the liberty not only of what they can control as the driver of their car, but also the uncontrollable factors at hand. There are a million considerations from mechanical workings to track conditions. Who knows how their luck pans out during the race? Just about anything can happen and this is what keeps fans on the edge of their seats. This time, it’s Dominator in the left lane taking on Squirrel in the right. It’s a battle that has both drivers going sideways! This race at Outlaw Armageddon definitely was one that ended up escalating quickly. Photo by National No Prep Racing Association To those that have not heard of him, his name is Jared McNickle but most of the fans know him as Squirrel and there is a very reasonable reason for the nickname, you see, it involves his old car, which used to get squirrelly at the track and that’s why people started calling him Squirrel. His old car used to be a small tire car, but now he decided to step up the game and enter the big tire competition with a twin turbo Shelby GT 500 and so far he has been 3-0 in this competition and now he is about to face a guy that is much more famous than him, he is about to race Dominator, who is also 3-0 at this competition. As the cars rocketed off of the line, it looked like Squirrel had the win in the bag. Almost immediately, Dominator lost traction and veered toward the wall. Fortunately for him, though, he managed to pull the car out of harm’s way. Instead, Squirrel would end up getting out of shape further down the track. While a lower speed loss of traction might be easier to correct, the higher speed skid wasn’t so repairable. In fact, there was almost no chance that the driver would be able to recover from this one. Photo by National No Prep Racing Association We watch the incident as the machine slides out with a head of steam. The car hit one wall before veering across the track and nearly involving Dominator as well. Both of the drivers would escape without life-threating injuries, which is the most important thing in any situation like this. You never want to be in a situation like this and the majority of us would never even wish this on our worst enemies. However, once it begins to unfold, all that the drivers can do is hold on and hope for the best! Sometimes, they come out on all fours and other times, things don’t go so well. Check out the walk down memory lane in the video of National No Prep below. This is why you have to be ready for just about any situation when you roll up to that starting line!
