- Cal Canyon’s New No Prep Elite Car: A Twin Turbo Challenge for NPK Season 7?
At StreetOutlawsTalks.com , we’re always excited to bring you the latest updates from the world of Street Outlaws, No Prep Kings, and everything related to the thrilling world of no-prep racing. Today, we’re diving into a bold new move from Cal Canyon, who just revealed his latest no-prep elite car—a twin-turbo Proline Hemi monster. Photo by Radical Speed Cal Canyon’s New Build If you caught last season of No Prep Kings (NPK), you probably remember Cal Canyon behind the wheel of a powerful Procharged Camaro. That car was nothing short of a beast, but now it looks like Cal is switching things up with a fresh twin-turbo setup. Word on the street is that Cal’s new car, still undergoing testing as of late last night, is getting dialed in for what’s shaping up to be an exciting season 7 of NPK. This new build features a twin-turbocharged Proline Hemi, which has become a popular choice for serious racers. With Proline’s reputation for power and reliability, it's no surprise that Cal went with their setup for his latest car. The twin-turbo Hemi has already proven its potential in other racing formats, especially in Pro Mod and eighth-mile outlaw events. In fact, recent dyno tests have shown that a twin-turbo Proline Hemi can push as much as 5,400 horsepower! But, as always with no-prep racing, it’s not just about raw power—it’s about how you use it. The Twin-Turbo Debate in NPK As exciting as a twin-turbo setup sounds, there’s been a lot of discussion in the no-prep community about whether turbos are truly competitive in NPK. While twin-turbo cars have dominated in other drag racing formats, they’ve struggled on NPK’s tricky, unprepped surfaces. The challenge for turbo setups is getting that immense horsepower to hook up on a no-prep track, where traction is at a premium. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography Looking back at last season, there wasn’t a single turbo car that made it into the Elite 16. ProCharged and screw-blown setups ruled the roost, consistently outpacing the turbo cars. Even seasoned racers like Daddy Dave and Scott Taylor, who have tried switching to twin turbos, couldn’t make it work in NPK. Why is this the case? Simply put, turbo cars generate tons of power, but on a no-prep surface, they often can’t get that power to the ground efficiently. No-prep surfaces are unforgiving, and while turbo cars can shine on smoother, prepared tracks, they tend to struggle with consistency on rougher no-prep surfaces. That said, with rumors swirling about potential changes to NPK regulations, such as the introduction of a 36-inch tall tire, twin-turbo setups might see some improvements. A taller tire could help turbo cars manage their power more effectively, giving them a fighting chance against the ProChargers and screw blowers. But even with these changes, many are skeptical that turbos will become the go-to choice for NPK. What’s Next for Cal Canyon? So, what does this all mean for Cal Canyon and his new twin-turbo Proline Hemi? It’s clear that Cal is taking a big risk by going with a turbo setup for NPK, but he’s no stranger to pushing the limits. If anyone can make it work, it might just be him. And if things don’t pan out, Cal’s past experience with ProChargers means he could always make the switch back if needed. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography Regardless of how things shake out, there’s no denying that Cal’s new car is a stunning piece of machinery. With a sleek design, top-tier wiring, and a powerhouse of an engine under the hood, this car is built to compete at the highest level. The big question is whether it can handle the unpredictability of no-prep racing and perform consistently on the NPK circuit. As we gear up for season 7 of No Prep Kings , all eyes will be on Cal Canyon and his twin-turbo Proline Hemi. Will this be the season when turbos finally make a serious impact in NPK? Only time will tell, but we can’t wait to find out. Stay tuned to StreetOutlawsTalks.com for more updates, news, and insights as we follow Cal’s journey and bring you the latest from the world of no-prep racing. Let us know in the comments what you think about Cal’s new build—do you think twin turbos have a place in NPK, or are ProChargers still king? Let the debate begin!
- What Really Happened to Doughboy from "Street Outlaws: Memphis"?
If you’re a fan of Street Outlaws: Memphis, then you’ve probably seen Doughboy’s rise to fame on the streets. With his bold personality, unique driving style, and undeniable passion for street racing, he quickly became a fan favorite. But in recent months, many fans have been asking: What happened to Doughboy? Where is he now? Photo by DoughBoy.MSO.JJdaBoss As one of the most intriguing characters in the Street Outlaws franchise, Doughboy’s disappearance from the show has left many wondering if there’s more to the story than meets the eye. Let’s break it down and find out exactly what happened to this Memphis racing legend. Who is Doughboy? For those who may not be familiar, Doughboy (whose real name is Josh Day ) was one of the key members of the Memphis crew in Street Outlaws . Known for his fast car and quicker wit, Doughboy quickly earned respect in the racing world. But what set him apart from other drivers on the show was his heart. He wasn’t just in it for the thrill of racing, but also because of his deep love for his family, the Memphis community, and the motorsport culture. Fans loved seeing him work alongside fellow racers like JJ Da Boss and his wife, Tricia Day, on the streets of Memphis. Whether it was his humorous antics or his undeniable talent behind the wheel, Doughboy’s personality became a staple of the Street Outlaws universe. The Shift in Doughboy's Storyline Around the middle of Season 5 of Street Outlaws: Memphis , fans began to notice that Doughboy wasn’t featured as much on the show. While JJ Da Boss remained a regular fixture, and new faces came and went, Doughboy’s absence became more and more noticeable. Speculation started to run wild. Was he leaving the racing scene for good? Was he off filming for something else? Or, more worryingly, had something bad happened? Photo by DoughBoy.MSO.JJdaBoss In a world as intense and dangerous as street racing, things can often go south quickly, and fans couldn't help but feel a sense of concern. So, what exactly led to Doughboy's sudden departure from the limelight? What Really Happened? After months of speculation, Doughboy himself took to social media to set the record straight. The answer, it seems, was both personal and professional. Doughboy revealed that he took a step back from Street Outlaws: Memphis to focus on his health and his family. Behind the scenes, he had been dealing with some personal struggles that required his attention. While he didn’t go into extreme detail about his private life, it’s clear that Doughboy needed time to recharge and regroup. He mentioned that his decision was not made lightly, but it was one that he needed for his well-being. In addition to personal matters, Doughboy also hinted at wanting to explore other racing opportunities outside of the Street Outlaws franchise. He made it clear that he was still very much in the racing scene and not ready to hang up his helmet for good. The love for the sport runs deep in his veins, and although his time on the show may have slowed, his passion for racing is as strong as ever. Doughboy’s Future in Racing Since stepping away from Street Outlaws: Memphis , Doughboy has kept a relatively low profile, but he hasn’t vanished entirely. Fans still follow his journey through social media, where he occasionally shares updates about his racing ventures. Whether it's a sneak peek of his current builds, or updates on races he’s been participating in, Doughboy is still connected with his audience in a very real way. Photo by DoughBoy.MSO.JJdaBoss There are rumors that Doughboy might make a return to the Street Outlaws world in the future, either as a guest racer or perhaps in a more permanent role. As of now, though, nothing official has been confirmed. His fans continue to cheer him on, hopeful that we will see more of the man who made such a huge impact on the Memphis racing scene. The Impact of Doughboy’s Departure Doughboy’s absence left a noticeable void in the Street Outlaws: Memphis crew. While the show has continued to thrive, the chemistry among the team just isn’t quite the same without him. His unique personality, sharp wit, and undeniable talent behind the wheel made him a key member of the Memphis racing scene. And for the fans, it’s hard not to miss the way he brought his own flair to every race and every episode. Still, the Memphis crew has adapted, and the team continues to race on the streets of Memphis. New faces have come in, and fans have embraced them, but many still hold out hope that Doughboy will one day return, bringing his spark back to the show. Conclusion So, what really happened to Doughboy? In short, he took a much-needed break to focus on himself and his family. While it’s uncertain what the future holds for Doughboy, one thing is clear—he hasn’t lost his love for racing. Fans are hoping that one day, Doughboy will return to the streets of Memphis, ready to race once more. Until then, we can only wait and continue to support him as he takes time for himself. Whether he’s on the streets or off them, Doughboy’s legacy in the Street Outlaws world remains intact, and fans will always remember the fun-loving, fast-driving racer from Memphis who made a huge impact on the show.
- Justin Swanstrom Set to Make a Powerful Return to RVW in Blood Money with a New Noonan Combo
Street Outlaws star Justin Swanstrom is gearing up for a major comeback to Radio Versus the World (RVW) racing this November, and it’s safe to say fans are in for a thrill. Swanstrom, known for his fierce competitiveness and high-octane performances in the No Prep Kings (NPK) series, is now bringing his promod “Blood Money” back to the RVW stage. But this isn’t just any return—he’s coming back with a brand-new powerhouse engine combination that promises to shake things up on the track. Photo by Justin Swanstrom The New Setup: More Power, More Speed For those familiar with Justin’s recent exploits in the NPK series, you know he’s no stranger to big tire setups and serious horsepower. However, his upcoming appearance in RVW will see him running Blood Money with a completely new engine setup featuring a Noonan screw-blown motor, built specifically for high overdrive. In the NPK series, Justin has been running his engines at 98% overdrive. But for this RVW comeback, he's turning up the heat to 125% overdrive—an enormous increase that’s bound to make a huge impact on Blood Money's performance. The higher overdrive will allow the engine to make significantly more power, which is exactly what you need to compete in the high-stakes world of radial tire racing. It’s also worth noting that Justin has had only limited testing time with Blood Money in this specific configuration. However, this new Noonan engine, built to handle the rigors of RVW racing, could be the game changer Swanstrom needs to make a big splash. A Return to RVW: What to Expect This isn’t Swanstrom’s first time racing in RVW. Back in 2018 and 2019, he ran a nitrous-powered Pro Mod in the class, achieving solid times in the 3.60s range. While impressive for a nitrous combination, the screw-blown setup he’s bringing now is on a whole different level. The potential of this new combo is massive, especially when you consider the performances being thrown down by top-tier RVW competitors. Photo by Justin Swanstrom Take Stevie “Fast” Jackson, for example. He recently hit 212 mph and a 3.52-second ET (elapsed time) in his screw-blown setup. Those are jaw-dropping numbers, and if Justin’s new setup is anything like it, fans can expect some serious speed when Blood Money hits the strip. The challenge, of course, is that RVW racing is highly competitive. Justin will be squaring off against some of the best radial tire racers in the world, but with his new screw-blown Noonan setup, he’s got a real shot at making his mark. And let’s not forget, RVW racing often takes place on unprepped tracks, making the choice of a screw blower—rather than a ProCharger setup—a smart move for consistent performance. The Journey So Far Swanstrom’s journey in Street Outlaws and NPK has been nothing short of impressive. His rise through the ranks, marked by consistent wins and a fearless approach, has made him a fan favorite. His promod, Blood Money, has already proven itself in the World Series of Pro Mod, where Justin ran solid times with very little test time. Despite limited experience on big tires, he managed to go 3.73 seconds—showing that there’s a lot of potential left to unlock. Now, as he turns his focus back to radial tire racing, fans are excited to see how far this new combination can take him. With the added power and a setup designed specifically for the demands of RVW, Justin is poised to make a serious impact. Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Swanstrom? As we get closer to November and Justin’s highly anticipated return to RVW, all eyes will be on Blood Money and what it can do with the new Noonan motor. The competition is fierce, but Justin has never shied away from a challenge. Whether he’s racing in NPK or taking on the heavy hitters in RVW, he’s always bringing his A-game. Photo by Justin Swanstrom Fans of Street Outlaws know that Swanstrom’s a racer who thrives under pressure. He’s already proven himself in the NPK series, and now he’s aiming to show that he can be just as dominant in Radio Versus the World. Stay tuned to StreetOutlawsTalks.com for more updates on Justin Swanstrom’s RVW journey, as we follow his progress and bring you the latest news from the world of Street Outlaws. - Scott Taylor’s New Pro Mod Camaro Gears Up for Pro Line Power and the World Series of Pro Mod
Hello, Street Outlaws fans! Welcome back to Street Outlaws Talks, your go-to source for everything happening in the world of Street Outlaws, No Prep Kings, and the high-stakes world of drag racing. Today, we’re diving into some exciting news about one of the fan favorites—Scott Taylor—and his brand-new Pro Mod Camaro, which is set to hit the strip with Pro Line power and a ProCharger at some of the biggest races in the world. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography If you're into fast cars and fierce competition, you know Scott Taylor is a driver to keep an eye on. Already a household name in the No Prep Kings series, Scott has been turning heads with his consistent wins and strong showings. In fact, he's claimed victory at two No Prep Kings races this season alone, and now he’s bringing that momentum into the Pro Mod world, a stage packed with some of the toughest competition out there. Scott Taylor’s New Pro Mod Camaro So, what’s the big deal about Scott Taylor’s new ride? For starters, it’s a stunning black Camaro that’s about to get even more ferocious. He’s equipping it with a Pro Line Racing Hemi engine and a ProCharger, a combination that’s proven to be a winner for him in the No Prep Kings series. This setup has helped Scott dominate on the track, and now he’s bringing that same power and performance to the World Series of Pro Mod (WSOPM). This Camaro will compete against some of the best door car racers from around the globe in what promises to be an epic showdown. The Pro Mod field is known for its incredibly tight competition, where over 60 cars will attempt to qualify, but only 32 make the cut. It’s a battleground where only the fastest and most finely-tuned machines survive, and Scott is ready to take on the challenge. The World Series of Pro Mod – A Big Stage for Street Outlaws For those unfamiliar, the WSOPM is one of the premier stages in the Pro Mod world. It’s where the biggest names in drag racing come to compete, and the stakes are high—very high. We’re talking about prize payouts in the range of $300,000 or more across multiple events. The competition is fierce, and it’s always exciting to see how the Street Outlaws drivers fare against other top-tier racers. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography Scott isn’t the only one from the Street Outlaws universe stepping up to the Pro Mod challenge. Other familiar names like Kye Kelly, Jim Howe, Justin Swanstrom, and even Chuck 55 are all bringing their A-game to the WSOPM this year. These drivers are looking to prove that the Street Outlaws crew can hang with the best of the best. What to Expect From Scott Taylor and His Camaro While Scott Taylor has already proven his mettle on the No Prep Kings circuit, the Pro Mod world presents a whole new level of competition. But with his new Camaro and the powerhouse Pro Line engine, expectations are sky-high. Scott has some of the best people in the business backing him, and he’s shown that he can handle the pressure of the big stage. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography We’ve already seen some impressive numbers from other Street Outlaws competitors in Pro Mod events. For example, Chuck 55 made it through the qualifying rounds and even managed to win a round in his Pro Mod debut. Justin Swanstrom, despite not qualifying last time, is coming back stronger with his own new setup. If Scott’s previous performance is any indication, we’re confident that he’ll not only qualify but also make a solid run at the top spots. Kye Kelly’s New Pro Mod – Another One to Watch While details are still under wraps, Kye Kelly is also working on a new Pro Mod build, and we can’t wait to see it in action. Kye has always been one of the top competitors in No Prep Kings, and if his new Pro Mod is anything like his previous rides, it’s going to be a serious threat on the track. There aren’t many details out yet, but you can bet that whatever he brings will be fast and fierce. A Look Ahead As we head into the winter months and the 2024 Pro Mod season, it’s clear that the Street Outlaws crew is about to make a big splash on one of drag racing’s biggest stages. Starting in December, Scott Taylor and his fellow Outlaws will be lining up against some of the best Pro Mod racers in the world, and it’s going to be a spectacle to watch. With the combination of Scott’s new Camaro, Pro Line power, and his undeniable talent behind the wheel, we’re all eager to see how he’ll perform. Whether it’s the World Series of Pro Mod or other major events, 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Street Outlaws fans. So buckle up, because the action is just getting started! - Murder Nova Faces Engine Setback Before No Prep Kings Race in Alabama
Hey everyone! Welcome to Street Outlaws Talks, your go-to place for all things Street Outlaws and No Prep Kings. Today, we’re diving into some major news coming out of the Murder Nova camp. It looks like Shawn and the Murder Nova crew are facing some serious engine trouble just days before the big race in Alabama. This could be a make-or-break moment in the hunt for the No Prep Kings Elite Championship. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography Recently, Shawn and the Murder Nova team posted some pretty concerning photos on their official Facebook page, revealing the damage to two of the engine sleeves from their prime racing engine. One of the sleeves is completely destroyed, and from what we can tell, it’s a significant setback. The damage to the block is a huge issue, and it’s something that needs to be addressed fast if they want to stay in the running for the championship. For those of you unfamiliar with engine sleeves, they're the cylindrical linings that protect the engine's block from the intense pressure generated by the pistons. Normally, a piston would have to seriously mess up to cause this kind of damage, but in this case, the piston itself seems fine. It’s pretty rare to see damage like this, and it caught a lot of people off guard, including the Murder Nova crew. Time Is Running Out for Alabama With the No Prep Kings Elite Championship race in Alabama just around the corner, the clock is ticking for Shawn and his crew to get the car back in racing shape. They’re currently working around the clock to repair the block and replace the damaged sleeves, but it’s going to be a tough challenge to get everything ready in time. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography What makes this situation even more stressful is that the Murder Nova team doesn’t have a spare engine block. While some of the bigger teams have the luxury of spare engines and blocks, Shawn and his team don’t. They do have spare heads, but when it comes to the heart of the engine, they’re working with what they’ve got. They’ve been pushing to upgrade their old OG motor, which is an MH5, to the newer MH7. Unfortunately, that upgrade won’t work for the NPK car right now, so they’re putting all their energy into getting the current engine fixed up. The Race for the Championship Is Tight Despite the engine damage, Shawn is in an amazing spot in the points standings. Right now, he’s sitting at number two, just five points behind the leader, Clay Cole. It’s a tight race, and even though Shawn lost the number one spot, he’s still within striking distance of the championship. Considering how hard he’s worked in the last few seasons—struggling in seasons 4 and 5 but picking up speed in season 6—he’s definitely earned his shot at the title. Shawn’s determination and passion for racing have always been a driving force behind the Murder Nova team’s success, and it shows in the fact that they ended the regular season at number one. Now, it’s all about making sure the car is ready to go for Alabama, one of the fastest tracks on the No Prep Kings circuit. If they can pull everything together in time, Shawn could very well be on his way to claiming the No Prep Kings Elite Championship. Support from the Racing Community One of the coolest things about the Street Outlaws community is how supportive the racers are of each other. After news of the engine damage broke, several other racers, including Bobby Cottrell, offered to lend Shawn an engine. However, it seems like the Murder Nova team is laser-focused on getting their own MH7 motor up and running. While it’s great to see that kind of camaraderie in the racing world, it’s clear that Shawn wants to win with his own setup, and we respect that. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography Can the Murder Nova Crew Pull It Off? It’s going to be a tough weekend for the Murder Nova team, but if anyone can pull off a miracle, it’s Shawn and his crew. They’ve overcome challenges before, and with just five points separating them from the top spot, you can bet they’ll do everything they can to be ready for the Alabama race. We’re all rooting for them, and hopefully, we’ll see them back on the track and chasing that championship. Alright, gearheads and Street Outlaws fans, buckle up because today we’re diving deep into a topic that’s been on everyone’s mind—when are we going to see the return of the legendary 405 crew? Will Street Outlaws 405 be back on our screens in 2025? Let’s unpack the rumors, clear up some confusion, and get a sense of where things are headed. Photo by Dean Images The Legendary 405: Why Fans Are So Fired Up If you’re anything like us here at Street Outlaws Talks , you live for the raw adrenaline, the close calls, and the thrill of the 405 tearing down the streets. Names like Big Chief, Murder Nova, and Dominator aren’t just racers—they’re legends in the street racing world. For 16 seasons, we’ve watched them push their cars to the limit, compete for pride and dominance, and serve up some of the most intense street races TV has ever seen. But lately, fans have been left wondering: Will we ever see the 405 crew again? The Facebook Post That Ignited the Rumors The uncertainty surrounding the future of Street Outlaws 405 hit a boiling point when Monza—one of the OGs from the crew—posted on Facebook. The post (which was later deleted) mentioned the word "canceled" in relation to the show. Naturally, fans went into panic mode. Was this the end of the 405 on TV? Photo by Dean Images It didn’t help that Monza’s post got picked up by the Street Outlaws fanbase, with rumors swirling faster than a burnout at the starting line. All of a sudden, everyone was asking the same thing: Is the 405 canceled for good? 187 Customs to the Rescue: Pump the Brakes Thankfully, 187 Customs stepped in to calm everyone down. They assured fans that despite Monza’s post, the show wasn't officially canceled—yet. This was a huge relief, but at the same time, we still haven’t heard anything concrete from Discovery or Pilgrim Studios, the major players behind the show. No official word has come down from the top, leaving the future of the 405 crew somewhat up in the air. Photo by Dean Images Dominator Gives Us Hope Now, if there’s one person who knows what’s really going on behind the scenes, it’s Dominator. He’s been there from the start, and he’s got his finger on the pulse of the 405’s future. Recently, Dominator gave us some juicy insider info during one of his YouTube updates. He confirmed that Street Outlaws 405 has always been renewed on a year-to-year basis. That means there have never been long-term contracts in place guaranteeing future seasons, even though the show has managed to give us 16 seasons of heart-pounding action. But here’s where things get interesting—Dominator hinted at some potential filming dates. He mentioned that November, February, or March could be when the 405 crew starts filming again. If that’s the case, a 2025 release date for the new season might be closer than we think. In other words, all hope isn’t lost. Fan Power: How YOU Can Help Bring Back the 405 Here’s the real kicker: Dominator stressed that fan engagement is key . That means us— you, me, and all the diehard fans out there —have a real shot at influencing whether or not the show comes back. This is where we all come in. Remember, the networks take fan enthusiasm seriously. The more we talk about the show, share our passion on social media, and show that we’re still hungry for more street racing action, the better the chances are that we’ll see the 405 back on our screens. We’ve seen it happen with other fan-favorite shows. When the fans make noise, the networks listen. And right now, we need to let Discovery and Pilgrim Studios know that the 405 crew isn’t just a TV show to us—it’s a culture, a community, and a passion that runs deep. Will Street Outlaws 405 Return in 2025? So, what’s the final word? While there’s no official announcement yet, things are definitely looking hopeful. The 405 crew is still dropping hints, engaging with fans, and staying active on social media. If the potential filming dates hold up, we could be gearing up for a 2025 season sooner than expected. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography Until then, all we can do is keep the conversation going. - Street Outlaws No Prep Elite Championship: Who’s Still in the Running After Rockingham?
Hey everyone, welcome to Street Outlaws Talks—your ultimate source for all things Street Outlaws. Today, we’re diving into the latest updates on the No Prep Elite Championship standings after the second race in Rockingham. The season is heating up, and we’re here to break down who’s still in the running for the championship and what to expect in the upcoming races. After Rockingham, the championship standings show some racers pulling ahead, but nothing is set in stone yet. Here’s how the points stand after two events: Photo by Street Outlaws No Prep Talk The Race So Far After two events, Clay Cole has emerged as the leader, with Shawn Ellington and Scott Taylor tied for second place alongside Robin Roberts. Clay has been consistent and fast, but with 140 points still available, the championship is far from over. Racers like Ryan Martin and Giuseppe Gentile are also staying competitive and have a good chance to shake things up in the next few events. For others, like Kye Kelly, Justin Swanstrom, and Jim Howe, the road to the championship will be more challenging—but not impossible. They’ll need some major wins in the upcoming races to keep their championship hopes alive. Who Has the Best Shot? While it’s still mathematically possible for racers outside the top five to win, they’ll have to put on some of the best performances of their careers to catch up. Clay Cole’s lead is significant, but he’s not untouchable. If Shawn Ellington, Scott Taylor, or Ryan Martin can take him out early in one of the upcoming races, they could quickly close the gap. Photo by Radical Speed However, for drivers like Justin Swanstrom, Nate Sayler, and Jim Howe, they’ll need to win outright at the next few events and hope that Clay, Shawn, or Scott falter along the way. Fast Tracks Ahead Looking ahead, Steele, Alabama, and Texas Motorplex are up next. Both are known for being some of the fastest tracks on the No Prep circuit. Steele, in particular, is famous for its great air and consistently quick times, which could favor drivers with solid tune-ups and fast setups. Texas Motorplex is another track where we could see big performances. Rockingham was fast, but these next two events will be critical. Expect drivers like Nate Sayler, who already pulled off an upset by beating Shawn Ellington in the first round at Rockingham, to be a serious threat. Kayla Morton, one of the fastest racers on the list, could also make a move if she can find more consistency. Photo by Radical Speed Key Matchups to Watch The first round of the next event is already shaping up to be one for the books, with several high-stakes matchups set to go down: Shawn Ellington vs. Jeff Lutz Scott Taylor vs. Nate Sayler or Chris Rankin Clay Cole vs. Nate Sayler or Chris Rankin Nate Sayler is one of the biggest threats here. He’s proven he can take out top-tier racers, and if he faces off against Clay Cole or Scott Taylor, he could be a serious contender for an upset. These first-round matchups will likely determine how the championship battle plays out, as early exits from any of the top contenders could shift the points standings significantly. Final Thoughts As we move into the next few events, Clay Cole remains the frontrunner, but Shawn Ellington, Scott Taylor, and Ryan Martin are still very much in the race. With 140 points left to be awarded, anything can happen. Drivers like Nate Sayler, Kayla Morton, and Jim Howe could also play spoiler and shake up the standings if they perform well in Steele and Texas. Stay tuned to Street Outlaws Talks as we continue to follow the action. The No Prep Elite Championship is far from over, and we’ll be here to keep you updated every step of the way. Make sure to watch the upcoming races closely, because this season is only getting more exciting from here!

Hello, Street Outlaws fans! Buckle up because we’ve got some exciting news from the No Prep Kings Elite Series. Scott Taylor has just earned his second event win of the season at the Rockingham race, and it was nothing short of spectacular! Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography In a fierce competition, Scott faced off against some of the toughest racers in the game, including Kye Kelly, Jim Howe, Robin Roberts, and Clay Cole. These are some of the fastest drivers on the circuit, but Scott and his team showed everyone why they’re a force to be reckoned with. Despite challenging track conditions, especially in the first round, Scott remained laser-focused and consistent throughout the event. His car was dialed in and flying! Many people, myself included, had their bets on Clay Cole taking the win. Clay has been a top contender all season, but Scott Taylor’s performance was nothing short of flawless. He earned this victory fair and square, and his car is proving to be one of the fastest on the track. For those of you following Scott’s journey, you know how hard-earned this success is. He’s been racing in the No Prep Kings series for around seven years, and his first Invitational win only came this season, just a few weeks ago. Now, he’s clinched his second win, and it’s clear that Scott’s team has everything dialed in for the remainder of the season. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography What’s even more exciting is Scott’s current standing in the championship points race. Although official standings haven’t been released yet, Scott is likely sitting in third place, just behind Clay Cole and Robin Roberts. With only two races left in the season, anything can happen, and Scott is definitely still in the running for the championship. And remember, the next race will have points and a half up for grabs, with the final race offering double points. There’s a lot on the line! Earlier this season, Scott debuted a twin-turbo setup, but it didn’t work as expected on the tricky no prep surface. So, he made the decision to switch back to his tried-and-true Brad charger setup, and it’s paid off in a big way. After some additional tuning, testing, and shedding weight from the car, Scott’s machine is now one of the fastest on the track, and he’s racing with momentum. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography With just two races remaining, the championship is still wide open. Clay Cole may be leading in points, but Scott Taylor and the other top contenders are within striking distance. It’s going to be a nail-biting finish to the season! So, congratulations again to Scott Taylor and his team for an incredible victory at Rockingham. As always, we’ll be following the rest of the No Prep Kings Elite Series closely here at StreetOutlawsTalks.com , bringing you all the latest updates, news, and results. Stay tuned, and let’s see if Scott can pull off a remarkable comeback and take home the championship! - Street Outlaws No Prep Kings Elite: Fast Racing at Rockingham
Welcome back to StreetOutlawsTalks.com ! Today, we’re diving into one of the most anticipated No Prep Kings (NPK) events of the season—Rockingham. Known for its fast track and exceptional air conditions, Rockingham has set the stage for what could be the fastest races we’ve seen in 2024. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography Last night marked the first official evening of action, with testing underway and all eyes on some serious speed. As always, the NPK races kicked off at 5 p.m., and early indications point to a track that’s in prime condition. There’s already been plenty of buzz about the surface being well-prepped, which, combined with the low-density altitude and favorable weather, is expected to deliver blistering times down the strip. Perfect Conditions for Fast Passes Earlier in the day, Disco Dean gave us a glimpse behind the scenes, going live on social media to show his crew making key adjustments to his Cadillac. They were tweaking the car’s converter and dialing in a tighter setup to put down more power—something we expect many other teams are doing as well. The reasoning? The conditions are just too good to leave anything on the table. With cool air and a smooth track, there’s no doubt we’ll witness some of the fastest passes of the season. Last weekend in Tulsa, we saw incredibly close racing, and from the looks of it, Rockingham might push that intensity to another level. One standout moment from Tulsa was the epic battle between Jim Howe and Ryan Martin. It was a photo-finish race that’s still fresh in everyone’s minds—a perfect example of how tight the competition is in the Elite 16. Whether you were rooting for Jim or Ryan, it was impossible not to be impressed by the skill and speed on display. NPK fans know that these close finishes are becoming more common, and Rockingham promises even more of them. All Eyes on the Elite 16 The Elite 16 racers are in a league of their own, and as we've seen so far this season, it’s anyone’s game. Everyone in this elite group is fast, and the margins between victory and defeat are razor-thin. This is the kind of competition that makes No Prep Kings so exhilarating to watch. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography So, what’s on the horizon for Rockingham? The weather forecast is calling for a density altitude (DA) below 2,000 feet and water grains between 50 and 70. For the turbocharged and supercharged combinations, that means ideal conditions to crank out serious horsepower. ProChargers and screw blowers, in particular, will be making big power with this air. Will Anyone Dethrone Shawn Ellington? Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington has held onto the top spot in the standings, and it’s safe to say he’s the man to beat. With a comfortable lead, he’s been running consistent and fast passes, leaving many wondering if anyone can catch him. Kai Kelly, one of the fan favorites, has shown flashes of brilliance, but he’s been unable to consistently beat Shawn this season. Kai’s car has the power, no doubt, but keeping the front end down and staying smooth has been a challenge. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography With Rockingham offering such perfect conditions, the big question is: can Kye or anyone else close the gap on Shawn? Only time will tell. It’s also worth watching the screw-blown cars, which have been extremely competitive, especially when they manage to keep all four wheels planted. Looking Ahead As we gear up for the next rounds at Rockingham, it’s clear that we’re in for a show. With the track in prime shape and teams pushing their setups to the limit, don’t be surprised if you see some record-breaking times. It’s going to be fast, it’s going to be close, and it’s definitely going to be exciting. Stay tuned to StreetOutlawsTalks.com for updates, race recaps, and everything you need to know about the world of Street Outlaws No Prep Kings. We’ll be bringing you all the latest from Rockingham and beyond. Buckle up, because this season is far from over, and the racing is only getting better!
- Damon Merchant’s Rogue Camaro Up for Sale: A Street Outlaws No Prep Kings Game-Changer
If you’ve been following Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings , you already know that Damon Merchant’s name was one of the hottest in the game last season. He made waves with his lethal Rogue Camaro, dominating the competition and leaving a lasting impression. Now, in a surprising twist, Merchant is selling that same beast of a car, and for those looking to get into the no prep world, this is an opportunity that doesn’t come around often. Photo by Dean Images Why Damon’s Camaro Was a Game-Changer Let’s take a quick trip down memory lane. Last season, Damon Merchant didn’t just participate—he crushed the competition. With a specific combination of setup and weight, Merchant made his mark by winning two NPK races . Not only that, he ended the season ranked number one for the Saturday events in the point standings, a huge accomplishment considering the talent pool in the NPK series. Even though he didn’t officially take home the Season 6 championship title, being the top driver in Saturday’s standings speaks volumes about both Damon’s driving skills and the Rogue Camaro’s performance. That car was built for dominance, and Damon’s combination made it a serious threat on the track. The Rogue Camaro: Up for Grabs at a Steal So, why is this such a big deal? Damon is now offering the Rogue Camaro for sale as a roller with electronics for $105,000 . For those unfamiliar, a “roller” means you’re getting everything except the engine, transmission, and a few other key components. But make no mistake—this isn’t just any car. The Camaro is built on a 251 chassis , and it’s been proven on the track time and time again. Photo by Damon Merchant Here’s where things get really interesting: If you were to build a chassis like this brand new, you’d be looking at spending upwards of $200,000 , and that’s just for the chassis alone! The fact that you can get Damon’s car, which has already proven itself in competition, for half that price is an incredible deal. And let’s not forget, this Camaro has some serious numbers to back it up—it’s been in the 920s for 60-foot times and clocked 240s to the 330-foot mark . Damon’s got the timeslips to prove it, so you know this car is no slouch. What Does This Mean for Damon Merchant’s Future? With the Camaro up for sale, a lot of fans are wondering what’s next for Damon. Does this mean he’s stepping away from No Prep Kings ? While it’s hard to say for sure, it’s worth noting that Damon hasn’t announced any concrete plans for next season. However, we’re all hoping this isn’t the last we see of him. Damon’s story is one that resonates with a lot of fans—he came in as the “little guy” without the massive stacks of cash or an army of spare engines. He showed up with his truck, trailer, and this Camaro, and he took on the best in the business. It’s a true underdog story, and that’s part of what makes Damon so likable in the Street Outlaws community. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography While it seems unlikely he’ll be running in NPK next year, it would be great to see him pop up in other no prep events or maybe even behind the wheel of a new big-tire car. Regardless of what the future holds, Damon’s impact on last season won’t be forgotten anytime soon. What’s Next for the Rogue Camaro? So, who’s going to be the lucky buyer of the Rogue Camaro? That’s the big question right now. For anyone serious about no prep racing, this is an opportunity you don’t want to pass up. Damon’s car was nothing short of lethal last season, and with its proven performance, whoever buys it could easily make a name for themselves in the No Prep Kings or other racing circuits. It’ll be exciting to see if the Rogue Camaro will make its way back onto the track with a new owner, or if it will be repurposed for other racing formats. Either way, this car is a piece of Street Outlaws history, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens next. Final Thoughts Damon Merchant’s Rogue Camaro is a true force in the no prep racing world. Its dominance last season wasn’t a fluke, and for $105,000, someone is going to walk away with a car that’s ready to take on the track. We hope to see Damon back in action soon, whether it’s in No Prep Kings or another series. His story, his approach, and his relentless spirit are what make Street Outlaws so much fun to watch. If you’re in the market for a proven no prep killer, this Camaro could be the next weapon in your arsenal. - OG Murder Nova is Getting Upgrades and Might Be Ready for No Prep Kings Next Season
Hey everyone! Welcome back to Street Outlaws Talks, where we dive into all the latest updates and action from the world of Street Outlaws. Today, we’re bringing you some exciting news about the OG Murder Nova and the possibility that it could be ready to shake things up in next year’s No Prep Kings (NPK) series. Photo by Annette Bauer Creative The OG Murder Nova is Getting Some Major Love As many of you know, the OG Murder Nova has been a fan favorite for years. This iconic car, driven by Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington, has been through quite a few changes, and now it's back in the shop getting some significant upgrades. According to recent updates from Shawn’s Facebook page, the OG is currently at DMC Racing, the same chassis shop that originally built it around 2020-2021. It’s getting some serious attention, and the possibilities are looking pretty exciting for what’s next! The chassis that was installed a few years back was top-notch, although, at the time, it wasn’t quite as light as they wanted it to be. Even though the car had an excellent setup, it was still a bit on the heavy side because it didn’t have much titanium. And as many of you gearheads know, titanium isn’t cheap, but it's a game-changer when it comes to shaving off weight. What Can We Expect from These Upgrades? One of the key changes that’s likely happening is a reduction in the car’s overall weight. Lighter cars have a huge advantage in drag racing, especially in competitive series like NPK. The team at DMC Racing is working on installing titanium parts, along with a few other upgrades, to get the OG Murder Nova closer to that magic 2,800 lb mark. If they can get the weight down, the car’s performance is bound to improve on both small and big tires. Photo by Isky Racing Cams What’s really exciting is that even though the car is currently running an older Prine Hemi MH5 motor, it still packs a punch. The MH5 has proven to be a beast, and Chris Rankin, who’s also running one, has been extremely fast lately. So, it’s clear that the OG Murder Nova still has plenty of potential under the hood. A Potential No Prep Kings Contender? Here’s where things get really interesting. Shawn himself has hinted that the OG Murder Nova could make its way to No Prep Kings racing next season. This is big news because, as we know, Shawn's current NPK car is performing incredibly well—it’s currently sitting at the top of the NPK points standings, which is a huge accomplishment. But the truth is, the OG Murder Nova might have an even better chassis than the current NPK car. If Shawn and the team can get the weight down and possibly upgrade the engine to the newer MH7 motor, this car could be a serious contender in No Prep Kings or No Prep Elite next year. The OG Murder Nova has already proven its worth on both small and big tires, so it’s not hard to imagine it tearing up the track in NPK. What’s Next for Shawn and the OG? For now, the OG Murder Nova is still at DMC Racing, getting all these upgrades. But if things go as planned, we could see it back in action soon, possibly with a brand new look and some serious speed improvements. Shawn has hinted at releasing a video update on their YouTube channel, so we’re all waiting to hear more about what’s going down with the build. Photo by Isky Racing Cams In the meantime, the current NPK car is still going strong, holding onto that #1 spot in the championship standings. But could the OG be the car to take Shawn to a whole new level next season? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—next year’s NPK season could be even more exciting if the OG Murder Nova joins the ranks. So, what do you guys think? Could the OG Murder Nova be the next NPK champion car? Drop a comment below and let us know your thoughts. And as always, stay tuned to Street Outlaws Talks for all the latest updates on your favorite racers and cars. Keep it fast, keep it loud, and we’ll see you at the track!
- Monza's Split Bumper Camaro is Going ProCharger – Big Changes for 2024
The Street Outlaws scene is buzzing with excitement, and if you’ve been keeping up with all things Monza, then you know that his iconic split bumper Camaro is getting a major overhaul. Here at Street Outlaws Talks, we’ve been following this build closely, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated comebacks in the racing world. So, what’s in store for Monza’s beast? Let’s dive into the details! Photo by Team Monza 405 A New Era for Monza's Camaro For those who’ve been fans of the Street Outlaws franchise, Monza’s Camaro is legendary. Over the years, we’ve seen this car go through several transformations, each one making it faster and more competitive. From the initial 632 cubic-inch nitrous motor to the 765 cubic-inch big block, and then the transition to the powerful twin-turbo 481X combo, Monza’s car has always been a force to be reckoned with. The latest news? Monza’s Camaro is moving away from the twin-turbo setup and going ProCharger . That’s right, the split bumper Camaro is gearing up for a serious power boost, and it’s going to be lighter, faster, and more aggressive than ever before. A Lighter and Faster Build In this new build, Monza is making some strategic changes to increase the car's speed and handling. The first major shift is weight reduction. With the use of titanium components , the car is shedding pounds and optimizing its weight distribution. Monza also plans to move the motor back a few inches, improving the car’s balance and performance. These adjustments should make the Camaro an absolute monster both on the street and in competitive races. Photo by Team Monza 405 The ProCharger Power The heart of this rebuild is the ProCharger F4X 136 , a highly controversial but undeniably powerful blower. Fans of NPK (No Prep Kings) will remember the drama surrounding this ProCharger, as it was a key player in the weight break discussions of Season 6. Despite the controversy, there’s no denying the F4X 136’s ability to generate massive horsepower. Interestingly, the F4X 136 is believed to be a rebranded version of the earlier F4 140, which has become a staple in competitive racing. The ProCharger Hemi combination has been one of the most potent setups in recent NPK seasons, and it’s likely Monza’s Camaro will follow this proven path. What Engine is Coming? One of the big questions surrounding Monza’s Camaro is: What engine will he pair with the ProCharger? While nothing is confirmed, the safe bet is on a Hemi. Monza has been working closely with ProLine Racing , and if history is any indication, the Hemi-ProCharger setup would be a logical and powerful choice. It’s the combination that has dominated in recent years, offering the best of both worlds when it comes to street and track performance. Photo by Team Monza 405 While Monza is not currently competing in NPK, the door is always open for him to take this beast to future no-prep events, or even hit the streets in some of the most grueling real no-prep races out there. There’s also a lot of speculation about whether Monza will take his rebuilt Camaro back to street racing roots, possibly even on smaller tires to compete in true no-prep races. Whatever the case may be, this build is all about versatility and maximum performance. What’s Next for Monza? The anticipation for Monza’s split bumper Camaro is through the roof, and fans of Street Outlaws can’t wait to see this car back in action. With the lightweight build, ProCharger power, and a potential Hemi under the hood, this Camaro will be faster than ever. Whether we see it on the street or at a no-prep event, one thing is certain—Monza isn’t playing around. We at Street Outlaws Talks are excited to see how this build evolves, and we’ll be keeping you updated every step of the way. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates as we watch one of the baddest cars in the game make its return. Stay Tuned for More!
