Street Outlaws Racing at Smackdown 2024: A Weekend of High Stakes and High-Speed Action

Welcome back to Street Outlaws Talks! We’re excited to dive into the latest developments from the Smackdown 2024 race, where some of the top racers from the Street Outlaws series are battling it out for a massive $150,000 prize. This high-octane event, part of the Midwest Drag Racing Series, is being held at the Flying H track strip, and it’s already delivering the intense action that fans have come to expect.

Who’s Racing?

Two of the big names to watch this weekend are Cole Pass and Brandon P. Both drivers are putting their skills and machines to the test, with Cole racing the brand new Elanor Mustang, which is NPK-legal. This Mustang made its debut just a few weeks ago and has already turned heads with its impressive performance.

The Elanor Mustang: A New Contender in the NPK Scene

The Elanor Mustang is still relatively new to the track, but it's quickly proving to be a formidable competitor. In testing, it clocked a 3.70-second run at 203 mph on a no-prep track. That’s an impressive time for a car still in its early days of tuning and optimization. This weekend, however, the Mustang will be running on a prep track, which could yield even better times.

Despite challenging conditions, with density altitude (DA) reaching around 3,500 feet and water grains hovering between 90-100, the car managed to put down some solid numbers. This is no small feat considering the 'bad air' conditions. Many believe that if the team can continue refining their setup, the Mustang has the potential to break into the 3.60-second range.

Could the Mustang Take the Win?

Kell, another NPK racer, currently holds the public record with a 3.69-second pass in PDRA competition. But with the way the Elanor Mustang is performing, there’s speculation that it could go even faster this weekend. Whether it will be fast enough to clinch the Pro Mod win remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the car is making waves.

The Power Behind the Performance

What’s contributing to this car's success is the combination of a potent engine setup and a highly skilled team. The Pass family, known for their expertise in making horsepower, have done a remarkable job with this new build. The Elanor Mustang runs a 49 PJ setup, which many consider to be one of the most powerful supercharged combinations in the NPK series right now. This car is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with.

A Test Session for Future Races

While the Smackdown 2024 race is a significant event, it also serves as a crucial test session for next weekend’s NPK race at US 131 Motorsports Park. This track is known for being one of the best, and a strong showing here would position the team well for the next round of competition. Even if they don’t make it to the elite 16 this time around, this weekend’s performance will be valuable for future races.

Looking Ahead

There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the Elanor Mustang and its potential. With more testing and refinement, this car could very well set new benchmarks in the NPK series. Whether or not it takes home the Smackdown 2024 title, it’s clear that this car and team are just getting started.
