Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings Season 7 Championship Start & Points System

Updated: Jun 11

Welcome, Street Outlaws fans! We’ve got some exciting news for you about the No Prep Kings Season 7 Championship. The season kicks off this weekend at Empower Dragway, after being postponed due to weather. This year promises to be thrilling with some new twists in the point system that are sure to keep us all on the edge of our seats.

The New Points System

This season introduces a slightly shorter schedule, with 11 races counting towards the championship, compared to the 14 from previous seasons. Despite the shorter schedule, the competition will be fiercer than ever with the introduction of a winners and losers bracket, a feature we've seen in the recent NPK races.

Here’s how it breaks down:

  • First Round on Friday: If you win, you advance to the winners bracket and earn 10 points. There are four rounds in the winners bracket, each awarding 10 points per win. Winning the winners bracket nets you 40 points, totaling 50 points including the initial 10 for showing up.

  • Losers Bracket: If you lose in the first round on Friday, you move to the losers bracket. Just by making it to the first round of the losers bracket, you get 5 points. Each subsequent round win in the losers bracket earns you 5 points. With four rounds in total, that’s 20 points for winning all rounds, plus the 5 initial points, making a total of 25 points.

This structure ensures that even if you have a rough start on Friday, you still have a solid chance to earn significant points and remain competitive. It levels the playing field, giving everyone, even those who might stumble early, a chance to claw back up the leaderboard.

Why This Matters

The new points system adds an extra layer of excitement and strategy. Top racers like Ryan, Kai, and Justin have all faced early round exits before, but now, they have a clearer path to recovery. This setup promises to keep the championship battle alive right up to the final race.
