Murder Nova Still Leading the Pack
At the top of the leaderboard, Murder Nova (Shawn Ellington) continues to hold the #1 spot, maintaining his strong lead in the championship. But right on his tail is JPA Gentile, who has been keeping the pressure on. While Murder Nova’s consistency has been a huge factor, it’s anyone’s game as we approach the critical races ahead.
Justin Swanstrom’s Impressive Comeback
One of the big stories from Las Vegas was Justin Swanstrom’s second win of the season. Justin and his team, including his dad Cory Swanstrom, have figured out how to dial in their car, “Bad Blood,” on tricky tracks. The Las Vegas track was no easy feat, with challenging conditions that tested every racer. Despite that, Justin managed to drive his way to the finals and took a decisive victory over Kayla Morton, who also put in an impressive performance.

Justin’s win moved him up two spots in the standings, putting him in the mix for the championship. He’s now only six rounds behind Murder Nova, which means he’s still very much in the running. If his car keeps performing like it did in Vegas, Justin could make a serious push for the title in the coming races.
Tight Battle for the Top 16
One of the most exciting parts of this season has been the battle for the top 16 spots. The points are incredibly tight, and with only a few races left, every round matters. Some big names, including Robin Roberts, Scott Taylor, and Jeff Lutz, are all fighting to solidify their positions.
After Vegas, here’s how the top 16 is shaping up:
Murder Nova (Shawn Ellington)
Giuseppe Gentile
Robin Roberts (didn’t race in Vegas)
Justin Swanstrom (moved up after his win)
Ryan Martin
Disco Dean
Kye Kelly
Clay Cole
Scott Taylor
Kayla Morton (impressive Vegas performance)
Paige Coughlin
Bobby Ducote
Jeff Lutz
Chris Rankin
Nate Sayler
Jimmy Taylor
Outside the top 16, some fan favorites like Birdman, Daddy Dave, Alex Laughlin, and Jerry Bird are still in the hunt, but they’ll need strong finishes in the next few races to climb back into the top spots.
What’s Next?
With the next NPK race just two weeks away, the pressure is mounting. The first round of qualifying on Friday is going to be a make-or-break moment for many racers. Those on the bubble will need to pull off near-perfect performances to secure their spots in the top 16. A single loss could mean falling out of contention, while a big win could guarantee their place in the upcoming rounds.
