Well folks, buckle up, because we’ve got some fresh news coming out of the Street Outlaws world, and it’s all centered around one of the biggest names in the game — Ryan Martin. At Street Outlaws Talks, we’ve been keeping a close eye on testing for this year’s Outlaw 32, and Ryan's got something very interesting in the works.

Let’s start with the basics. Over the past few days, Ryan has been out testing the infamous gray Fireball Camaro — now equipped with a brand-new setup. He’s not out there alone either. Joining him is his teammate Carson Baker, rolling in a slick-looking Camaro of his own. While we can’t say for sure if Carson is running the exact same setup, it’s clear they’re both out there gathering data and dialing in their combos — and that’s a huge advantage.
Now, let’s talk about what’s new under the hood for Ryan. He’s switched things up with a Liberty 5-speed transmission paired with a lockup and a massive ProCharger 144 centrifugal supercharger. Oh, and let’s not forget the nitrous. That’s right — he’s stacking the power adders. This combo is pushing significantly more horsepower than before, and with no minimum weight to worry about in Outlaw 32, the car is lighter too. That’s a big deal.

What makes this move even more interesting is that not many racers in NPK history have paired a Liberty with a ProCharger. The only one that comes to mind? Justin Swanstrom, back in Seasons 4 and 5 before he switched to a screw blower. Most ProCharger guys stick to a Turbo 400-style transmission, so Ryan is definitely exploring new territory here. Liberty transmissions have seen some success with screw blower cars — names like John Odom, Jim Howe, and Justin himself have all run them — but for a ProCharger setup? That’s a rare move.
The real benefit of the Liberty is its ability to keep RPMs up and take advantage of great track conditions. If Ryan can find consistency with this combo, we could be looking at one of the toughest setups to beat in Outlaw 32. Sure, he’s had a couple of rough test days (he admitted that himself), but if there’s one thing we know about Ryan Martin, it’s that he’s the king of dialing in a race car. The man lives for perfecting his setup.

Even though Ryan didn’t take home the NPK championship last season, let’s not forget — he’s still the winningest driver in the series. He’s won more races than anyone else, and his track record speaks for itself. While we may not see the same level of domination he had a few years ago, you’d be crazy to count him out.
As for Carson Baker, keep an eye on that guy. Testing alongside Ryan means he’s getting solid data, and we could be seeing the rise of a serious contender. Two well-matched cars with similar powerplants testing side by side? That’s just smart racing.
So what’s next? If Ryan can get this new combo figured out — and let’s be honest, he probably will — the gray car might just become one of the most lethal setups in the field. With a lighter chassis, more power, a Liberty, and a lockup, he’s packing everything needed to shake up the standings this season.
