A Look Back at the Legendary Bonnie Camaro

For those who may not be familiar, Lizzy Musi’s “Bonnie” Camaro is a car that has become iconic within the No Prep racing community. Built by Robert Hayes in 2020-2021, this car has not only showcased Lizzy’s incredible driving skills but also cemented itself as a dominant force in the NPK scene during Season 4 and Season 5.

The Bonnie Camaro has a storied past, having won several races and consistently performing at a high level against fierce competition. In its debut season, the car stunned many with its speed and power, leaving a lasting impression on fans and fellow racers. I was fortunate enough to witness this beast in action at Palm Beach at the start of Season 5. Watching Lizzy and Bonnie go head-to-head with Ryan Martin in the finals was a sight to behold, even though they fell short of victory that day.

What Makes This Camaro So Special?

This isn’t just any race car—it’s a car that has been meticulously built and proven on the track. With its nitrous-powered engine, Bonnie was a force to be reckoned with. It’s designed for speed and precision, which is why it outperformed many competitors during its racing career. Winning three (or possibly more) NPK events, it’s a car that has not only been a part of Lizzy’s legacy but has also contributed to the evolution of the sport.

Why the Auction Matters

The decision to auction off this iconic car is monumental. It’s not every day that a vehicle with such a rich history becomes available to the public. For those looking to race in NPK or just wanting to own a piece of racing history, this is a golden opportunity. Building a car of this caliber from scratch would set you back well over $150,000 to $200,000 for the chassis alone. But this car isn’t just about its build quality; it’s about its legacy, the races it’s won, and the name it’s made for itself in the Street Outlaws community.

What’s Next for Lizzy Musi’s Racing Legacy?

While the original Bonnie is up for auction, the racing legacy continues. Lizzy’s newer “Bonnie 2.0” Camaro is set to take on the PDRA Pro Street class, ensuring that her presence is still felt on the track. It’s clear that even though the original Bonnie is moving on to a new owner, the spirit and passion of Lizzy’s racing career are still very much alive.

A Farewell to an Icon

As fans, we’ve seen Lizzy Musi grow and achieve incredible feats behind the wheel of the original Bonnie Camaro. While it’s bittersweet to see this car go to auction, it’s also an exciting time. This is a chance for a new owner to continue the car’s legacy, whether they’re planning to race it or simply preserve it as a collector’s item.

To all potential bidders: this is more than just a car. It’s a piece of No Prep history, a testament to Lizzy’s skill and determination, and a symbol of what’s possible when passion meets performance. Whoever ends up with this incredible machine is getting a lot more than just a race car—they’re getting a story, a legacy, and a piece of the Street Outlaws journey.
