Well, folks — we’ve got a killer update for you. Justin Swanstrom’s “Outdated” Mustang is officially done, and let me tell you, it’s a work of art. Even though we might not see it tearing up a big tire class anytime soon, this machine is something every fan of fast Fords and raw horsepower needs to see.

Recently, the car was completely wired and set up by the pros over at Modern Racing. That alone tells you this isn’t just another pretty face — it’s a serious piece of equipment. The car looks flat-out amazing. It's that sleek fastback-style Mustang that turns heads even sitting still. Throw a big screw blower on top and set it on big tires, and you’ve got one mean-looking hot rod.
Now, I know some people aren’t fans of how screw blowers look, especially when they stick way out and kill the “street car” vibe — but let’s be real. This isn’t a grocery-getter. It’s a full-blown drag car, and it looks nasty in the best way possible.

Here’s the catch — and yeah, it still stings — we won’t be seeing this beast in the Speed Promotions series this season. Unfortunately, Justin and Speed Promotions couldn’t come to terms on a contract. If you’ve been following us here at Street Outlaws Talks, you already know how we feel about that. It sucks. Plain and simple. Justin’s one of the biggest names and best racers in No Prep Kings, and cutting him from the show just doesn’t make sense to us. But hey, that’s the game sometimes.
So, what’s next for the Outdated Mustang? Well, Justin plans to put it on radials for now. It might become a No Time car, though he already has a couple of those in his arsenal — including the ones he runs alongside Todd Fain. There's also a chance we could see it in the Pro 275 class, which would be awesome. With the kind of setup this car has, it could be a real force in that world.

And let’s not forget — this thing is built to be top-tier. We’re talking best-of-the-best parts, a lightweight chassis, screw blower power, and all the tech you'd expect in a $500,000 build. If it ever does end up back on big tires, and especially under the no-rules Speed Promotions format, it would be a serious threat. No weight limits, no blower restrictions — just raw, unleashed performance.
Until then, we’ll be keeping an eye on where and how Justin decides to run it. Maybe we’ll see it pop up in the No Time King series or at some radial events. Either way, we’re just excited to see this thing hit the track — even if it’s not where we wanted to see it.
As always, stay tuned right here on Street Outlaws Talks for more updates on Justin Swanstrom, the Outdated Mustang, and all the latest action from the world of street and no prep racing. Don’t forget to subscribe and drop a comment — we love hearing what you all think about these builds and where you want to see them race next.
